Guidelines for the Instructional Coordinator
During the one hour one-on-one meeting, you will work closely with the new writer to determine if they are ready to begin working for the Collegiate Times.
After discussing the mission of the paper, you should approach the topics of interviewing procedures, AP style and writing considerations, and journalistic ethics.
Using the provided Assessment Items and Rubric as guidelines, the meeting should proceed as combination of discussion and written work. Particular attention should be paid to areas where the new writer is less confident or fails to meet the rubric requirements.
By the end of the meeting, the new writer should meet all overall instructional requirements and be ready to writer for the paper!
