Introduction to the Lesson-

Students and facilitators should review the lesson overview before accessing the materials and information that they would like to view though the lesson site.
Learning Materials-
Students will access the site on their own before meeting with the training coordinator at their college newspaper. Students will visit the learning materials section of the site to complete their introductory training and view assessment items that will be used as review aids when they have their in-person meeting with the coordinator. This introduction lesson should take students 90 minutes to complete. The lesson is split into three main sections under the main objective of the lesson:
New staff members at a collegiate newspaper will demonstrate proper interviewing procedures, recognize typical journalistic writing considerations and AP Style rules, and distinguish between ethical and unethical journalistic behaviors to prepare for their future writing assignments through their online introductory course at the Collegiate Times.
